Kids’ Design Workshop
Launched in 2004 the Kids’ Design Workshop program brings children between the ages of 8 and 12 together with architects and designers to openly explore ideas and creativity across a range of projects – from dreaming up new cites to using traditional weaving methods to rethink our homes. The aim is to open up a discussion about our cities and how we want to live in them with an audience not always included in the discussion. A design workshop for children open to ideas and at a crucial point of creative direction, each workshop leader was carefully chosen. Key to the program is sharing knowledge and experience, guiding but not directing, and the innovative projects, experiments and processes employed inside their own workshops that inform the workshop’s framework. Guests have included Spanish architect and designer Patricia Urquiola, Brazilian designer Fernando Campara from Estudio Campana and Italian architect Piero Lissoni from Lissoni Associati.(workshop) |
